Director of Advancement
JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary function of the Director of Advancement is to passionately advocate for YPN and help secure support for the agency in an effort to fulfill its mission to Support, Educate, and Empower.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director/Board of Directors (as needed)
Key areas of focus:
- A steadfast belief in our mission
- Increase YPN’s donor/funding outreach and procurement
- Relationship building
As Director of Advancement, a typical week might include the following:
- Working with the Executive Director to discuss strategy on increasing funding streams
- Contacting a donor and setting up a meeting to foster a relationship
- Putting the finishing touches on a grant application
- Mentoring an intern or a colleague
- Meeting with the Marketing Coordinator to discuss the annual report, social media messaging, or fundraising events
- Conducting a Leadership Team meeting to discuss agency matters
- Meeting with a Board Subcommittee to discuss fund development or recruiting new members
- Sending a thank you note for a donation and recording it in Salesforce
- Having the flexibility to attend a family function or personal appointment
- Planning a Lunch & Learn to present information about YPN
- Meeting with the We Care Shop/Diaper Bank Coordinator to discuss tasks for the week
- Attending a professional development seminar to stay informed on relevant trends

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: In order to land this opportunity, you will need a BA/BS degree and/or 5+ years of relevant experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the team member to communicate effectively
- Sufficient vision, which permits the team member to produce and review a wide variety of materials in both electronic and hardcopy forms
- Sufficient manual dexterity, which permits the team member to operate a keyboard and to make handwritten notations
